INTRODUCTION
Derrick Ellis is a first pass handler, his excellent ability to control the pace and find teammates has allowed him to finish his NCAA career with an average of 4.4 assists per game. In terms of scoring, he is able to create space off the dribble thanks to his handling ability and speed, showing good coordination to finish with floaters as well as at the rim despite his size. He has room for improvement in catch and shoot situations from beyond the three-point line. Defensively, he is very aggressive on the ball and also active in passing lanes (1.8 steals per game), although he may struggle with too much physicality when approached in the paint. Definitely an intriguing addition for any entry-level team.
